For production cutting we utilize the Hydmech S20A fully automatic self feeding, bundle cutting saw. it has a cutting envelop of 13 x 18 inches with mitering capabilities.
We acquired a fiber laser system in order to permanently engrave and mark logos, part numbers, bar codes etc ... onto various types of ferrous and or non ferrous materials. We are currently offering this value added service to many of our customers as they have seen the value in adding part numbers to their components etc.
E&M Automotion provides Laser Cutting and fabricating services. We can provide parts cut and bent to your specifications. The 3000 W Trumpf laser can process Mild steel thickness max 3/4 inch, Stainless 3/8 inch, Aluminum 3/16 inch. Provide us with the .DXF file or email us a print and we can make the CAD drawing for you as well.
We feature 2 CNC turning centers. A HAAS and Mori-Seiki with parts catcher and barfeed. These high performance turning centers are extremely accurate and can run within tight tolerances all day long. Whether it be a large quantity of small parts which we can run unmanned using the barfeeder or larger shafts or components, we have the capabilities to get it done.
We offer wet spray painting services for components and assemblies that we produce. These services include LVHP and HVLP. If our customers needs specify powder coated parts we have a few reputable partners whom we rely on to provide us with a certified quality service.
We offer a wide variety of welding options, including tig, mig and robotic mig welding featuring a Nachi robotic welder with extended reach for larger parts.
We have a vast array of Vertical Machining Center. 5 units in total enabling us to machine a wide variety of parts, casting etc.. and work on a multitude of jobs simultaneously, greatly reducing lead times for our customers. All our VMC's are 4th Axis ready.
We also design and produce all our own jigs and fixtures. For castings machining we utilize plastic printing technology to get samples made from the CAD drawings in order to do final part proofing and verification and also to design and build accurate fixtures even before the first rough castings are produced. Using plastic printing technology for castings machining enables us to get a finished part in our hands and work started on even the most complicated fixtures even before the foundry has even started the pattern making process. This greatly reduces lead times, enabling our customers to get their parts to market or on the assembly line faster then ever.
We acquired a state of the art automated conveyor style multi-nozzle sandblaster. This automated system ensures perfectly blasted parts day in and day out. Having the ability to run at high and low pressures and having adjustable conveyor speeds, this unit enables us to consistently and precisely blast parts to your desired specifications ensuring perfect results every time. This system is perfect for paint preparation and for parts which are imbedded into fiberglass, foam etc... We use all types of blast media such as steel grit and shot, aluminum oxide, garnet, glass bead and plastic media alike etc...
We can deburr, finish and polish parts of all material types with our 55 inch diameter, 300 litre capacity vibratory finisher. This new behemoth is now a staple in our shop as we know that besides accuracy and being functional, parts also need to look great.
We utilize CAD-CAM systems to design parts, create tool paths and generate G-Code for rapid prototyping and production components, enabling us to accurately and efficiently reproduce designed parts on our CNC Turning Centers and Vertical Machining Centers alike.

We have been involved in a number of interesting and value added projects. One was a collaborative project with a glass artist to design, build and assemble unique and delicate stainless steel and bronze frame structures which would embody and support glass wings. This art installation is now permanently displayed hanging from the ceiling in the departures area of the new Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.
